watch out world!! (many hidden links)

I guess blogs can often have pretty short lifespans, and this one kind've died this summer. I've been busy with my band HALO HALO... making music videos, releasing a record and playing gigs in the arctic circle.

I guess doing all this took over from maintaining a blog of 'musings' and talking to myself about the strange ideas I have for possible artworks ..etc

well its about time to get back into it. I'm gonna be in a few shows this autumn, HALO HALO are taking a 3 month break and this was just on TV a few days ago ...

Read an earlier blog entry if you wanna get contextualised!

....and one more thing. Me and Pete Inkpen (.com) made an album, its called HULA LOOPS. and its recommended listening when you have a spare 13 minutes after breakfast and before you leave the house.

2 EP's

I've put two collections on bandcamp. Click on the covers to go to the songs. I haven't blogged for a while, I haven't really thought about much for a while, I've just been working for the census and saving money for a camera maybe or a plane ticket to another country.

The first collection, called "talltales&voicemails" is made up of a few answerphone messages and banjo noodlings in my bedroom, which I recorded just after graduating. I didn't pick up the phone for a few days.

The second is called "Look Up! Can you see it coming? (The rainbow)". I made it for the whole family at christmas when I didn't have any money but had a lot of time to sit around and use musical typing on garage band.

Red Sky At Night

Late 2003: They leave the cinema after watching LOTR: The Return of the King. It ends when he enters the polling station to vote for the first time in the 2005 general election. Sometime in between these two significant events he smokes too much weed in the back of his friends car on a country road. Whilst slipping in and out of consciousness he experiences a jungle fantasy, in which he meets the girl of his dreams and raises a son, teaching him how to hunt the strange creatures that loom in the darkness.

I want to call it "Red Sky At Night" and it'll probably be 34 minutes long. Need to get a new camera and round up some actooorrs first though. Who's with me?!

Uma Thurman by quinkinkdontblot

I've been in a band with Rachel now for a while, after all kinds of bedroom and sitting room jamming with different instruments and things and being embarrassed about singing and writing cheesy lyrics, oh, and lots of arguing... its slowly turned into a kind've complete and ready to go thing with a name and everything. We're called Halo Halo, have I mentioned it on this blog before? I can't remember. ANyway.. we have played a few gigs already, and one which went especially well I think, with Lucky Dragons a couple of weeks ago...but maybe it was extra good cos we got a new member that week, someone called Dr.G... this is her...

Oh and that thing at the top of this entry, that soundcloud thing, its a clip of us all playing together in our basement, its not a song really yet but I like it. Oh and its called "Uma Thurman" cos I was looking over at a VHS of the film "Gattaca" when I was saving the file, have you seen "Gattaca"? Its pretty cool... If you listen to the recording, try thinking about some of the themes in the film, you can read the synopsis here, or just imagine what a sci-fi movie with Uma Thurman might be like.

This is how I sleep now. And when I wake up, its another day decorating the studio.

I've finally started writing about Korea... http://weallsangshoutatthenorebang.blogspot.com.

And I've found an empty shop, which is going to be transformed into... a shop! and a gallery! When I've actually paid the rent for the first month I might start talking about it. I'm excited though!

meanwhile..

I'm working on a new blog all about what happened to us in Korea. Its called A.I.R in the R.O.K, and i'll put it here soon. I'll write about what was in the box and everything... but meanwhile coming back to London was kinda weird, I've being buying sugar waffles from Aldi nearly everyday and covering them with apples and cinnamon... i'm going back on the J.S.A too so i'll probably draw more pictures of people waiting to sign on or monsters rampaging through cities... oh but we do now have a breadmaker and a blender so the kitchen is an exciting place to spend the day.. and my bedroom is too, i'm playing final fantasy VII which everyone knows is the coolest game ever. OH and I'm moving into a studio next week with Naama, we'll be sweeping up the cobwebs first.
